These radios are a must when cell service is not available. In addition to reaching up to 2 miles away, they have a weather station feature that relays information on upcoming developments that could impact a victims current situation.
Though this may seem to be an exorbitant cost for something so little, this item has been used in areas where cell service or landline service is not working. Many times one phone is used to communicate by an entire community to ease the worry of loved ones and coordinate rescues and supplies. These Satellite phones work just like a cell phone which also can send and receive text. This package includes the phone, up to 1700 minutes of talk time. We personally deliver these phones.
